Check For Previous Damage
When you show up to pick up your moving truck, be sure to walk its length from front to back and around every side. You’re looking for any damage already present on the truck in order to report that damage to the rental company. Ensuring that both you and the company are familiar with the truck’s condition before you take it will prevent additional charges later if the company finds the damage after you’ve had the truck and, therefore, assumes that you caused it.
Consider Truck Drivability
Whether you’re driving your moving truck across the country or just across town, you should always consider which one will be the easiest for you to drive. Moving trucks come in various sizes and transmissions, so always double check that you’re getting what you need. You don’t want to accidentally book a manual transmission truck if you only know how to drive an automatic.
Consider Your Insurance
The ideal insurance for your move will cover the vehicle, your liability, and your belongings. Truck rental companies often offer insurance, but you should also contact your own automotive insurance provider to learn the details of your policy.
